Request For Audience Participation Inspires Terror At Comedy Show

by Daniel

Last night, UCB Sunset’s audience was left terror struck when professional, unpaid improvisor Steve Gunderson asked someone in the audience to say a little something about how their day was going. “You know, just to get things going.” clarified Steve after noticing the eerie silence from the audience. Still, the silence persisted for what felt like years until someone in the back murmured something about going to a bank.

An independent review by the Comedy Review Board(CRB) found that, during the silence, audience members were 34% “thinking about saying something,” 52% “utterly terrified of saying something awkward” and 14% “thinking about bashing their friend’s head in if they said something awkward.”
