In preparation for a particularly lengthy, hearthy mid day nap, Steve Gunderson consumed a Clif Bar — an energy bar intended for hikers and outdoor recreation. Just before Steve slipped into a deeply comfortable sleep, he distinctly remembers thinking about the logo on the package depicting a rock climber scaling a cliff and saying out loud “Why isn’t it called ‘Cliff Bar?’”
