House House, the developer of the hugely popular Untitled Goose Game, announced this morning that they have signed a strategic agreement with Warner Bros. Television and Dorothy Parker Drank Here Productions, the production company behind the hit CW program Gilmore Girls. As part of this agreement, House House is developing a new DLC level for Untitled Goose Game that sees the unnamed goose main character going “across the pond” to find himself in Star’s Hollow, interacting with several pivotal characters from the Gilmore Girls television show. We also would not be surprised if this deal also covers future games under House House but our sources were unable to confirm this.
While this deal has clearly been in the works for quite some time, this comes hot on the heels of some very solid sales numbers for the Untitled Goose Game that may have been spurred on by tremendous twitter buzz. Steve Gunderson, head of PR for House House Games, had this to say about what fans of Untitled Goose Game and Gilmore Girls can expect.
First of all, I just want thank the people over at Warner Bros. Television and Amy Sherman-Palladino for trusting us with their baby. It is such an honor for our small team to be allowed to play in this space. And hopefully we can add our unique Untitled Goose flavor to the franchise.
And for fans of the original Untitled Goose Games, they can expect the same gameplay they’ve grown to love in this new level. No knowledge of Gilmore Girls is required, although it is available on Netflix USA if you want to jump on board.
Unfortunately, I can’t say much in the way of specifics both because it is still early and because surprise is key to the comedic design of our games. But I can say that we are fans of The Gilmore Girls and “Make Rory break up with Logan” will definitely be one of the more pivotal items of our goose’s to-do list.
