Coughing, either excessive or mild, is one of the most common health complaints and can have any number of root causes. Someone going to their local doctor with that symptom can expect a diagnosis ranging from something as mild as seasonal allergies or as serious as lung cancer.
However, the vast majority of physicians agree that blood coming up with the cough is a surefire sign that, whatever the root cause, it has progressed to the point that a slow, painful patient death is largely inevitable. So, if you’ve got coughing issues, keep an eye out for blood on your tissues.
