Many people know the beloved comic actor Ken Jeong from The Hangover, Community and the more recent Crazy Rich Asians(CRA). But did you know that, before all that, he was actually a licensed medical doctor? Yes, it’s true. He obtained his MD at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1995 and completed his residency at Ochsner Medical Center. He started performing at open mics in college and eventually performed at big time comedy clubs like The Improv while, at the same time, he was enjoying a healthy medical career. Late in his medical career, he even managed to procure a prestigious seat on the Central Los Angeles Death Panel, where they performed cost-benefit analysis on Obamacare patients. Comedy can truly come from anywhere.
